GO HUSKIES!

Even though Wes and I grew up on different coasts, the cities that we lived in are oddly similar. Putnam is considered the antiquing capitol of the east coast, while Snohomish is considered that on the west coast. Population is comparable and a river runs by both towns. Foliage and weather is also nearly the same (with the exception of Connecticut's humidity)! So it's funny that the major University's Mascots are both the Huskies. 🐺 And we each have Husky fans in our family. 😊

Cousins!

Auntie Sheena put on a little photo shoot for us to document the babes together. Jack and Brooklyn are just 4 months apart! Can't wait to see the changes when we visit for Brooklyn's 1st birthday in November!

Peanut- 3 Months

What’s new?
Jack has been focusing on his hands for some time but we're noticing that he's now studying his fingers and toes. These days his hands are always in his mouth and he's very, very drooly. Doctor Wilkinson says drooling is completely normal as his saliva glands are developing and he's in the beginning stages of pre-teething😐. Jack's finger grip is really strong and he can now hold his head completely up by himself with no help. He may have been doing that last month too... I can't remember when it started. Either way I am amazed by his strength. He has also started kicking and dancing on the changing table making it a little more challenging to change a diaper and get him dressed. He can stand straight up too, with a some help from Mom and Dad-but not much! Yesterday (6/29) Jack had his first BIG laugh! We had a bit of a rough cranky day so I was surprised when I gave him a belly raspberry while changing his diaper that he let out a couple of giggles! He got the hiccups immediately after and they made him mad so the laughs only lasted a minute but were so cool! Later that evening he let out some more giggles for Dad so we both got to experience it. I can't wait until they happen every day consistently! He has also started the game of flirting. He smiles and coos at ladies, in the grocery store, walking around the neighborhood and at the doctor. #ladiesman

Stats:
At his 3 month appointment, Jack weighed in at 13 lbs. 14 oz. and 25" long! One whole inch taller than last month. He is currently in the 80th percentile for height and the 40th for weight. Doctor Wilkinson says he's perfect and obviously, I couldn't agree more!

Hair:
I didn't realize Jack was a 'bald' baby until hanging with his pals, Audrey, Liam and Brock. πŸ˜‚ He definitely has hairs but nothing compared to his friends! He's still very blonde, though I'm noticing some auburn highlights when the light hits him. His 'party in the back' ducktail is growing strong and I'm loving it.

Eyes:
Jack's eyes are looking very blue, even icy blue now, but Grandma Mary says my eyes were really blue until about 9 months and now they're brown. We will see!

Clothes:
We're fitting great in 3 month clothes and feetie jammies. Jack is now wearing big boy clothes during the day, usually a onesie and pants or shorts. Southern California had a major hot streak for June a few weeks ago and during those days he hung out in only a diaper.

Feeding:
Jack continues to eat well! I was a little worried how traveling to the east coast would affect his eating and sleeping habits but both were better than fine.

Likes:
Jack still likes sitting in our laps- facing outward. He also likes to stand up (with very little help from Mom and Dad). He's not quite the fan he used to be getting his diaper changed. It's hit or miss now, though most of our big smiles and the couple of laughs happened on his changing table. He loves laying on his activity gym, especially playing with his Freddie Firefly and Captain Calamari Lamaze toys. He really likes his wubbanub pacifiers and napping in his swing. He's happy when we take the pups for walks and seems to like going to design meetings with me. He always behaves better than expected. We play a fun little game where we make noises at each other (he makes a noise, then I make the same noise and so on). It's one of my favorite things to do with him because this is when I get the most smiles.

Dislikes:
Jack dislikes a wet diaper. We have to change him at the slightest touch of blue on the water line. He HATES the hiccups. We both can't stand traffic. Jack will sleep so soundly in his carseat- unless we're at a stoplight!

Mama Update:
I'm feeling better every day! Almost exactly at the 3 month mark my hair has started to fall out. Hoping it doesn't happen for too much longer. I am starting to (slowly) fit into my pre-baby tops and dresses but still have a little longer to go in my maternity jeans.

Looking Forward To:
Consistent, big giggles!

Getting our 12th man on! 🏈

Peanut- 11 Weeks

11 Weeks! I can't believe it.

Today we went and visited Wes at his work to show off little Peanut. He has lots of admirers, (Peanut not Wes) although it seems Muffin is quite popular too! When we got home, I fed him and planned to take his weekly photos, as I do every Thursday. Because we wanted to look our best for the meet and greet, Jack was in an exceptionally cute little outfit, wearing denim overalls. As I was burping him, we had a blow out. An up the back, through the legs all over blow out. It was so bad, when we got to the changing table, I wasn't quite sure where to start. I needed a minute to asses the situation and come up with a game plan... In the tub πŸ› he went! Needless to say, the overalls will have to be another day. The weather got warmer anyways so we put on our cool new dinosaur onesie from Grandma and Grandpa F. and took advantage of the outdoors.

Roly Poly

Jack has been rolling from tummy to back for a while now but today I got it on video. His grunt is the best πŸ˜‚. Don't mind Bravo TV in the background....
