Peanut- Weeks 5 & 6
These couple weeks have been the best ones yet. You are sleeping really well, I'm only getting up once in the middle of the night and then once again early morning between five and six. Dad still gets up with you to hang out before he gets ready for work. You guys like your political news! Your cooing and smiling and making funny faces all the time. I'm starting to feel like you know who I am- for real!
We visited Auntie Casey and Audrey and the next day Uncle Chris came to visit for lunch with his girlfriend Sara, (you slept the whole time). Your great Uncle Dave (he was at our wedding) also came for a visit and took us all out for dinner. You have started taking the bottle. We tried a couple different types but you're actually good with the kind that came with my breast pump! You still prefer the boob though, (obviously) who wouldn't? You get hiccups all the time, which is funny because you got hiccups in my belly ALL. THE. TIME.
Barney adores you. He let's me know when your crying in your swing while I'm trying to take a shower. He hasn't missed a diaper change, and he wants to lick your face in the worst way. But don't worry, I don't let him. We started working on tummy time, which is not your favorite but you'll get there. Your neck is still so strong, and your finger grip is even stronger. You like to play with your activity gym and have grabbed some of the toys. You do this funny thing where you kick your right leg repeatedly. It looks like a really bad dance move. π I weighed you on the scale myself and it showed you were 11 pounds! Today we're going to my 6 week doctors appointment and I can't wait to show you off to Dr. Mendelsohn. She's going to be so proud!

Peanut- 4 Weeks
This week you turned one month old! I can't believe it. We had a bit of a rough patch for a few days. You were upset all the time! After our one month doctor checkup, I can understand why! You had grown 2.5" in length in only a few days. Wow! You are 23" long and 9.13 lbs! My hard work feeding you is paying off. We introduced you to the bottle, to which you are not a fan. You'll get used to it. You have started cooing and really smiling- melting my heart. No crying at all during bath time now! You are really focusing on ceiling fans, the pictures on our walls and shadows. Dad is dying to know what color your eyes will become. Right now, they're looking like they'll be light blue! Either way, they're beautiful. All the grandparents have gone now, leaving us with you all to ourselves! We are trying to start a 'routine' and working on getting used to our new normal. In other big news, you have moved up from newborn diapers to size ones! You have also decided that the swaddle is not for you! you like to sleep with your arms above your head and stretched out. This is how I like to sleep too π
! We love you so much. Dad and I have adoringly come up with other nicknames for you, of course, you'll always be Peanut but sometimes you're called: bud, little dude, milk monster, toot machine, little muffin and my love.
This was taken on one of those rough days...

Peanut- 3 Weeks
Oh Hey! Did someone say 3 weeks already???
You're so beautiful. You are becoming even more alert than before and are so strong. You grip my finger tightly when I feed you. You love looking at bright lights and sucking on your pacifier. We had our first almost tear free bath. You only cried when I washed your head- we are making progress! Grandpa Jim and Grandma Debbie came to visit and Grandma and Grandpa Farner are here now. You are so loved. You're still eating well and sleeping good too. You'll sleep until 3-4 and then again until 6:30am, losing some (but not all) of your time with Daddy in the mornings. You have grown so much! Now in 3 month sleepers. I had to buy more yesterday because you're legs were too long and feet were too big for your newborn jammies. In desperate need of doing laundry, I cut the toes off one of your onesie pajamas so your feet weren't scrunched while sleeping. You still love sleeping in your pod pillow and have also started (slightly) smiling. I caught one for the first time changing your diaper! You are still a very good baby! This week, you're friend Liam came to visit. π¬
You and Liam. Chillin like bros do
What our average day looks like.
Roxie trying her hardest to like you.

Peanut- 2 Weeks
One of my favorite things you do right now is throw your arms straight in front of you when you're startled. It looks like you're doing the Michael Jackson Thriller Dance and makes me giggle every time! You love to snuggle and have tummy time on mine and Daddy's chest. You also like to be rocked in your nursery and snooze in your podster. You DO NOT like baths but I think you will eventually. You are a very good baby!
